Top Honeymoon Destinations
Saturday, October 25th, 2008So imagine you’ve had the wedding of your dreams; the dress was right, the venue was right, and everything went smoothly. What comes next? The honeymoon of course! This is the time when you get to relax and rewind after all the planning and hard work that’s gone towards you wedding. Here are some ideas for destinations you can visit:
1. The Beach Choice; Mauritius, Barbados and St. Lucia
A pretty classic beach location famed for its white sands and blue waters. This is perfect for newlyweds – you can get your own villa for the period, relax, sip cocktails by the sea. If you like the sun and you like to relax this is for you. If you are getting married in the summer then prices will be higher; flights without accommodation will be at least £1000. There are lots of stunning Caribbean Islands so make sure you weigh up all of your choices first.
2. The Romantic Choice: Venice, Rome, Paris
If lazing on a beach isn’t for you but you want some romance how about Italy? Venice for example is an obvious choice with its old buildings and gondolas. Paris is a beautiful city full of famous sites and scenes– just avoid the usual tourist traps.
3. The Exciting Honeymoon: New York, Tokyo
Hardly traditional and certainly not slow paced or peaceful, more couples are opting for the excitement of a city that’s full of things to see and do. In New York you can visit Central Park; you can go shopping and go up the Empire State Building, or even catch some shows at the theatre. In Tokyo you can visit the shopping districts or even travel out of the city to see Mount Fuji.
4. A Beach Closer to Home; Sardinia
If your budget won’t stretch to the Caribbean or far away shores, but you still want a beach holiday but not to be caught up with the crowds of revellers, then how about Sardinia? It is a quieter resort on the Costa Verde and is a nice, unspoilt alternative to busier parts of the Mediterranean.
Hopefully there will be some useful ideas here on where to spend your Honeymoon – don’t be afraid to go somewhere unconventional if you will enjoy the experience more. Make sure you are both happy with the choice, remember to book well in advance for popular destinations, and most of all have fun!
